In March, 1997, Brian Callaway opened Callaway Detailing Co., Inc. after 17 years of experience as a draftsman at St. Joseph Structural Steel and Midland Steel Co. and as an estimator at Varco Pruden Buildings. The purpose of the new corporation was to provide fabricators and contractors with a firm specializing in structural steel detailing of new and existing buildings.
CDC works closely with contractors, fabricators, and erectors for the best application for fitting of new and existing conditions. With precise and accurate field measuring, CDC will provide accurate drawings for fabrication and erection.
What started in 1997 as a structural steel drafting firm has grown to add large format copying and scanning to the general public. In 2004, we began to provide copies for contractors and found a large demand for the service in St. Joseph. By 2007, an office for printing was opened to allow easy access to the public.
